- I can't help you with your low data rate, but according to the manual
- ,you cannot establish a 230K connection to the modem unless
- you issue a special command which is buried in the back of the manual.
- My experience with this modem has been surprisingly good. I have an
- average to poor phone line and have been able to connect to my
- University server at 28.8 ( the max they have) about 30% of the time.
- I think the manual is not very good unless you are using Windows 95 (
- I have it hooked up to a MAC, where they give a third of a page on how
- to configure it). Also what the heck are you supposed with the little
- ferrite clip on cylinder that comes with the modem, put it on your
- data cable?
